About Me

Hi, my name is Nick and I love making things.

After growing up watching Grand Designs and assembling flat pack furniture, I was inspired to pursue making for myself.

My journey fully started after university when I began my woodworking adventure at the Building Crafts College, London, completing a bench joinery course. Learning the magic of traditional joinery techniques and the satisfaction of seeing joints come together proved incredibly infectious and grew keen to learn more.

After meeting Will St Clair at a festival, he kindly offered me to assist on a chair making course of his and was introduced to the wonderful ways of green woodworking, working fresh wood before it is seasoned. This initiation into woodland crafts transformed my outlook on making and materials, shaping my future trajectory.

The new appreciation of the woodland ways took me to Wilderness Wood where I learned to build structures and experiment with all sorts of processes with wood alongside Dan and a whole host of inspiring makers and doers.

For the last couple of years I have been excitedly bringing these skills back up to the city with Global Generation, a gardening and crafts charity, and the build of their new Story Garden.

Alongside this, I have taken on a workshop space at Park Royal Open Workshop to develop my own furniture ideas, bringing together green woodworking and traditional joinery.
